On Saturday Zack and I took a little morning trip to the beach. I brought a picnic complete with a basket, a blanket, and beer. The Oregon coast brought its charm with waves crashing into rocks the size of houses, and caramel-colored sand dotted with black pebbles. And despite a chilling wind, the sky brought us some warmth with a bright, shining Springtime sun. It was lovely. As I have grown, I've developed a deep relationship with the sea as some tend to do. I decided to write a bit about it, and it turned into this poem below. Check it out.

how it moves with confidence and rhythm, dressed in shades of sapphire and emerald, has held me captive, while it both roars and whispers a most attractive duality. powerful and dangerous, yet gorgeous and reassuring. stories of fantasy echo through a sense of mystery i can never quite name. at the same time, intimacy and connection drift across its surface like the familiar breaths of a lover. it remains haunted by catastrophe and war, but abundant in beauty, alive in the intricacies of its ecology. it sings of joy and sadness, while ceaselessly painting a reflection of the human psyche, wave after wave, brushstroke after brushstroke, saturating the sand from light to dark, dark to light.
Keep peace and keep creating,
